Well I guess I’ve learned the secret,
That only little flowers know,
If it never, never rains,
Then we’ll never, never grow.

Lyrics by Heritage Singers

Despite incredible forgetfulness bordering on neglect, these amazing blooms have managed to endure to brighten countless days in our garden.  The roses are a favourite nibble for hungry pademelons and possums.

For Further Thought

  • Did you know science has now established that trees can communicate with each other via complex networks underground?
  • Did you know different minerals and pH in the soil can make plants flower in different colours?
  • Did you know a flower can sense the presence of a buzzing bee?
