My mentors referred to navigating life by your own values and authentic self as “true North”. Before you can test your inner cartography and sense of direction, you need to deeply and thoughtfully consider yourself as a unique and separate person.

If shattering the atom brings destruction, surely breaking love at death would violate every law of the universe. So where does love go?
What does it become? What do we become when it changes? In an earthly sense, I haven’t found the answer.

Brace for cuteness overload! The Tasmanian pademelon is likely the planet’s most adorable mammal. The Rufous-bellied pademelon is now unique to Tasmania. Although once found in southeastern mainland Australia, it is now extinct there due to predation from introduced predators.
Whilst I struggle at photographing flowers barely an inch from my face in the garden, this brave wanderer is out and about with a real camera capturing nature’s splendor on the ranges. These beauties are from Gary’s time on the Overland Track.
Despite incredible forgetfulness bordering on neglect, these amazing blooms have managed to endure to brighten countless days in our garden. The roses are a favourite nibble for hungry pademelons and possums.
We don’t know when the skies begin to darken over so many of our journeys. The beginning of our heartbreak – their condition – is unseen. The first signs to our eyes are those which signal an end already nearing.
I have been the grateful recipient of many pearls of wisdom from family, friends, colleagues, and mentors through the years. In an effort to sit awhile with my memories of those special people (many gone), I will share their insights here.
