My mentors referred to navigating life by your own values and authentic self as “true North”. Before you can test your inner cartography and sense of direction, you need to deeply and thoughtfully consider yourself as a unique and separate person.
Does being in nature help you to connect with memories or emotion? Are there special places in nature where you visit to remember a loved one who spent time there? What elements of nature do you connect with most?
We don’t know when the skies begin to darken over so many of our journeys. The beginning of our heartbreak – their condition – is unseen. The first signs to our eyes are those which signal an end already nearing.
I have been the grateful recipient of many pearls of wisdom from family, friends, colleagues, and mentors through the years. In an effort to sit awhile with my memories of those special people (many gone), I will share their insights here.
